Been to the Toolshed a couple of times when we were in Oz, first time there as a Harley Davidson enthusiast I was amazed at all the HD,s parked up, I did not know what to expect ( We had my 78 year old mother with us) but she was taken with the "Fat Boy", I know why the bikers were there.... the FOOD. It was unbelieveable : inexpensive, more than enough, well cooked and presented, quick service in clean surroundings etc etc. When next in Aus, we will return. The only thing wrong was our timing.... by the time we finished our meal the Harley's had moved on, so no photo opportunities.

The restaurant utilises gorgeous organic and local produce to create wholesome dishes with a fine dining edge. Scrumptious meals, excellent rustic setting (with a menu to compliment the surroundings) and fantastic staff. Chef Snelling has really found his niche within this setting and I can highly recommend including this restaurant in a weekend getaway plan - although I would also stress that it is even worth visiting as part of a day trip. One of the best regional restaurants I have had the pleasure to dine at - I look forward to making a return trip and urge others to do the same.

The Outpost Restaurant was a real treat! Located in the very pretty town of Noojee, The Outpost was a real delight and such a happy find. The property is well maintained, and the gardens and wildlife alone are worth the drive there. The staff were so welcoming, friendly, and competent. We were served at the perfect times, with the staff judging when each course was wanted, drinks, and when to leave us to chat. We were even offered to be seated closer to the fire if we got cold (but we didn't as the temperature was nicely maintained). The photos were of particular interest to myself.
The food! Wow! Perfectly cooked, with every ingredient sourced from local producers; you could really tell from the taste! The food was special, a little bit fancy, but so approachable. Choosing from the medium but amazing menu was a fun but tricky task. We will be going back many a time, yum! The food, service, atmosphere, and location make this a real favourite. (Less)
