A hidden gem, serving up some of the best Italian style pizza and tapas.

view gallery (8)
Concealed behind a red doorway in a covert laneway off Little Bourke street resides Portello Rosso, a pizzeria and Jamón bar. The menu offers unpretentious regional Mediterranean cooking, with a focus on pizza, tapas and antipasto, utilising the very best quality ingredients sourced from around the world. Jamón, freshly sliced by a vintage meat slicer, is a feature of the Portello Rosso menu, as is a tight yet diverse range of Italian and Spanish wines and beers.

The pizze was fantastic, service was a little to laid back, but the whole space is great will be back for sure

The food still has some way to go if they want to compete with some of Melbournes more established tapas restaurants. Great wine and beer selection, lovely laid back and very enjoyable casual service from some very good looking staff!

I found this restaurant by accident. It is below one of Melbourne's best cocktail bar, Murmur. The Italian style pizzas were great and ambiance of the venue was very welcoming.
