Despite having been highly "awarded", our dining experience at "The Melting Pot" was not particularly memorable. Having eaten many other degustation menus, this was decidedly inferior. While the overall price of the menu was comparable with others, the portions were minuscule, the flavours far from extraordinary and the wait between courses almost ridiculous. If one was looking for a degustation experience, I would recommend either "The Grange" (Hilton), "The Magill Estate Restaurant" or "Blakes Restaurant" (Hyatt) far above "The Melting Pot". In it’s favour, the wine menu was reasonably extensive and the atmosphere was subdued and intimate. The service was friendly and a highlight for the evening was the blood orange souffle with white chocolate ice cream. (Less)
