I am a mad japanese food lover , and I have learnt the good from the bad when it comes to the food. Zakura has to be one of the best value for money japanese restaurants in the eastern suburbs. Combine that with mouth watering meals (especially the gyoza and bento box), stylish surroundings and pleasant staff, Bondi has a winner. I have even given up a dinner in a flash city japanese restaurant to stay home with Zakura take-away (o.k it was a freezing cold and wet winters night but at least dinner was great.)
