Michael puts a lot of time, hard work and effect in to what he produces and should be admired for that. If you eat in a restaurant in Sydney there are so many variables which put me off like, no kids, big plates with little food and little or no noise. The Apple Bar wins hands down. This restaurant always accommodates its patrons. I have 2 small children who throughly enjoy the Apple Bar. This restaurant is rustic, romantic, kid friendly - it's everything. The perfect place to be nestled in the mountains. After all, how many chefs talk to the patrons as they're cooking and preparing? Michael makes you feel at home. (Less)

I've eaten here on our way to Mt Wilson on several occasions, the staff are always nice, the food is as I would expect for a regional restaurant, not awesome but OK. At the end of the day - if you want a fast meal then stop at Maccas, if you want a beer and a pizza and are willing to wait according to mountain time then stop here. I'm willing to wait.

We decided to order another entrée to keep the kids happy, some fried potato – unfortunately the spicy sauce did not suit the kids. The next entrée was served well before the other main. Then, the mains were served after more than one hour wait. The forth main was served 20 minutes later. At this stage I asked them to take the plate back and not charge for it. They asked if I wanted a doggy bag. After complaining, I did not have to pay for the forth main (we had already split the food we got). I would not recommend for a busy holiday! (Less)
