St Fiacre Distillery is set in a garden of fragrant plants and herbs for it was formerly The Fragrant Garden, a centre of learning for all things herbal for the last 30 years. With its garden ambience it seemed entirely natural to name the distillery for a Seventh Century French monk – St Fiacre the patron saint of gardeners. Even more so as it was the medieval monks who brought the first herbal liqueurs/elixirs/medicines into the world at a time when doctors were fairly thin on the ground.
