GREEKALICIOUS, Sydney's most authentic Greek cooking experience hosts Greek Easter celebrations for food lovers, with traditional Greek Easter cooking classes and egg painting at the school's Bondi Junction location.

On Thursday 13 March, 6:30pm and Saturday 15 March, 10.30am; founder Maria Benardis prepares a traditional Greek Easter Feast, with Greek Easter lamb - stuffed and roasted on the spit; Greek Easter eggs - hard boiled eggs dyed red and decorated to symbolise the renewal of life and blood of Christ; galaktoboureko – Greek Easter filo custard pie sweet cakes; and other Easter delights.

Maria says the classes provide a culinary and cultural insight into Greek Easter ceremonies and feasts enjoyed in the homes and neighbourhoods of Greek Australians all over the country.

"For Greeks, Easter is about family, food and celebrating the most important event of the Orthodox calendar. It is a colourful and vibrant time in Greece where streets and homes are decorated with painted eggs in every colour; and food is at the center of festivities."
