The Good Food & Wine Show Brings the Latest in Food & Wine Trends

The Brisbane Good Food & Wine Show offers a plethora of food, wine and everything in between all under one roof. It is also the place to see the latest in food and wine trends including the Locavore diet, organic produce, lighter wines, healthy and quick homemade meals and the still-in-vogue celebrity chef.

Locavore Diet
The Locavore diet, or local foods movement, is gaining momentum as people discover that the best-tasting and most sustainable choices are foods that are fresh, seasonal, and grown close to home. Visit the Brisbane Good Food & Wine Show for the best in local QLD produce:
  • Lyndey Milan's Regional Producers Market: Renowned food writer, TV personality and food influencer will choose the best of QLD regional producers to showcase their fare at her farmers market.
  • Granite Belt Wine Country: Queensland's premier wine region has turned its sights to food. The region is launching its new food trail at the show - Nude Food: As nature intended... in region and in season. The self-drive food trail highlights the best local produce for visitors who care about the 'paddock to pantry' process. Sample a range of products from the region's trail at the Good Food and Wine Show including beautifully homemade, organic and preservative free pesto from Sandmill Foods, berry products from The Bramble Patch, quality vinegar and verjus from Lirah, fresh apple juice and ciders from Suttons, and delicious goodies from the Bella Rosa Tea Rooms.
Organic Produce
Food trends are favouring products with ingredient labels that read more like a home recipe rather than a chemist's shopping list.
  • Barambah Organics Australia: Award winning Barambah Organics produces certified organic dairy products in Brisbane and sources its milk from its own farms at Goondiwndi and Murgon.
  • Farm by Nature: committed to products that not only taste good but have an underlying health benefit, Farm by Nature is based on combining great taste, health and convenience.
Lighter Wine
Juggling a frantic social life with work and health has compelled a trend in wines of lower alcoholic content that provide just as much taste.
  • Lindemans Early Harvest is a unique range of light and refreshing wines that are on average 30% lighter in alcohol and contain 30% less calories. Enjoy these wines in relaxing surrounds at the first ever show restaurant - Lindemans Early Harvest Restaurant. For the first time at the Brisbane Good Food & Wine Show, visitors can enjoy restaurant quality dining with menus created by leading chefs Ainsley Harriott and Ben O'Donoghue. Each dish is matched to a light and refreshing Lindemans Early Harvest wine.
  • Brown Brothers: among their diverse offer of seasoned wines and innovative varietals, Brown Brothers will be sampling their newest release, Moscato Rosa. With delicious aromas of summer fruits, this musky, fresh, light-style wine is kinder to you at 7% alcohol content.
Healthy Homemade Meals
For consumers starved of time rather than food, quick and easy nutrition has become front of mind. The Gourmet Garden Cooking School will offer hands-on 90 min classes hosted by Liz Long from Luscious Affairs. It gives participants the opportunity to learn how to create delicious and nutritious gourmet meals. Tickets are AUD$50 and can pre-booked through Ticketek.

Celebrity Chefs
Despite having been around for years now, the celebrity chef trend is alive and well. The Diners Club Celebrity Theatre presented by LifeStyle FOOD Channel will see live demonstrations from the charismatic and popular UK chef Ainsley Harriott, as well as featuring the best home-grown talent including The Chopping Block's Matt Moran, Tobie Puttock, Ben O'Donoghue and Alastair McLeod.
