Launceston Eats In Designer Style

SA SA SO is a new salad bar located in downtown Launceston. The interior, designed by leading Tasmanian interior designers Bury and Kirkland, is an edgy fit out that includes different styles of seating (armless armchairs, stools and café chairs), a large communal table and a feature wall papered in a New York city scape.

The design concept is based on the Pret a Manger model in London where buying lunch is hip, fast and fresh. The layout divides the space into in-house eating and takeaway. The interior combines modern materials (metallic mosaic tiles, acrylic furniture, and funky pendant lights) with dressed original floorboards and a timber communal table.

"Most importantly I found that Bury and Kirkland were able to listen to our brief and then interpret by expanding on those ideas both technically and creatively ultimately bringing our vision to life." comments Mathew Routley from Sasaso.

He adds "We were extremely happy with the overall result for the project and think that the design will stand up both practically to the rigors of the business and creatively to the test of time."

SA SA SO is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, 10am to 9pm and is serving fresh fabulous food and Grinders premium blend of coffee. Tasmanian produce such as lean beef, lamb, salmon and fresh salad vegetables feature heavily on the menu and the gourmet fish (caught daily) and chips are a popular favorite.
