'Vive La France' At Sofitel Brisbane

Newly appointed French-born executive chef Patrice Falantin will celebrate his first Bastille Day with Sofitel Brisbane with a menu reflecting his Gallic heritage.

The hotel, part of Paris-based Accor Hospitality, will offer the menu in its Thyme2 Restaurant with choices including Poulet a la crème Normandy and seafood bouillabaisse with crisp baguette and sauce rouille.

French white bean soup, veal cordon bleu, sauté potatoes lyonnaise, salmon en croute, canard a la orange, lamb navarin, mussels meuniere and wood fired pissaladiere are among the other choices.

A classic crepe suzette with vanilla bean sherbet heads the dessert menu as well as mini strawberry mille fuille, gateau St Honore, cointeresse savarin, clafouti tart with cherries, vanilla crème brulee and a number of other French-inspired creations.

Roquefort cheese with fresh baguette and coffee complete the celebration.

In Cuvee Lounge Bollinger, Pol Roger and Moet & Chandon will be served by the glass for AUS$27 along with the traditional French aperitif Kir Royale for AUS$16 complemented by classic French Amuse Bouche.

Cost for lunch is $49 and for dinner $59.
