Culinary
Master and TV personality Michael Moore - owner of Sydney's Summit
Restaurant - is turning heads in support for the National Breast Cancer
Foundation. October is internationally recognised as breast cancer
month and this year Michael is at the head of this magnificent cause
with a custom made chef's jacket, traditionally white, this month he
has turned his to a fashionable rich shade of PINK.
Known nationally for his weekly cooking segments on Mornings with
Kerri-Anne and Fresh, both on the Nine Network, Michael is thrilled to
be associated with the National Breast Cancer Foundation for a second
year running.
Twenty years into an international career from numerous top Sydney
restaurants including setting up and opening Sir Terence Conran's
Bluebird Gastrodome, London to leading Sydney restaurants Wildfire,
Bennelong and Prunier's.
Having experienced breast cancer devastation in his family, Moore is
tickled pink to be able to give back to the community and support the
fight against the disease. "If my message can make a small difference
and remind Sydney-siders that more than 13,000 Australians are
diagnosed with breast cancer each year, it's worth it," says Moore.
In addition, the lobby of the Summit will boast an extravagant 2.2
metre moneybox, entitled 'Steps to Survival'. The stunning installation
consists of 47 white orbiting bands, reflecting the location of the
Summit Restaurant on Level 47 of the Australia Square building. For
every AUD$1,000 raised, one band of the moneybox will be illuminated
pink.
From September 26, everyone is encouraged to place donations directly
into the moneybox or to make an online donation on the Summit website. Monies raised will fund vital breast
cancer research programs, into the prevention, detection and treatment
of the disease.
As part of Michael's commitment to the National Breast Cancer
Foundation the Summit will once again take part in the Estee Lauder
Global Illumination campaign. The campaign involves lighting
significant architectural landmarks around the world pink. The Summit
Restaurant Australia Square will be one of just two Sydney buildings
lit pink for Global Illumination, alongside the Sydney Opera House,
which is clearly visible from the Summit.
