The Sydney Mint Café in the historic precinct of Macquarie Street is serving High Tea from 2 – 4 pm, weekdays for that city break with swish of difference.
Enjoy the elegant, generous and sunny verandah of one of the city's oldest buildings with delicious sandwiches, tarts, scones or sweet treats and a choice of fine loose leaf teas or a Vittoria coffee - for $25. Or be wicked with a Grant Burge sparkling wine instead at $32.
The menu is mouth watering. A generous chicken Waldorf sandwich or goat's cheese and caramelised onion tart on the savoury side.
And for sweeties – scones with double cream and strawberry jam, or vanilla and raspberry panna cotta and chocolate brownie.
The newly refurbished and licensed Sydney Mint Cafe is the oldest classically detailed building in Australia. It is also open weekdays for breakfast and lunch. The cuisine is from the fine chefs of the award winning Trippas White team.
