Melbourne's Royal Exhibition Buildings will play host to the most exciting Food & Wine event yet to be experienced – Taste of Melbourne.

Ever wanted to visit all your favourite restaurants in one place, under one roof and at the same time? Taste of Melbourne provides this rare opportunity.

Melbourne's leading and hatted restaurants - Jacques Reymond, Circa the Prince, Three One Two, The Press Club, The Stokehouse, The Botanical, Longrain, Grossi Florentino, Fifteen, Interlude, Verge, Nobu and The Court House come together to present to the public, their three incomparable signature dishes. Select wines from Australia's most prestigious vineyards will highlight and complement the food.

Add to this, Victoria's leading produce suppliers and purveyors of all things excellent, a Wine Theatre hosted by experts imparting information for both the beginner and the connoisseur, intimate and informal chats over a glass of wine with Head Chefs, beer sommeliers from the best boutique breweries and a Chef's Theatre where the great and good chefs reveal their trade secrets – this is a unique and all encompassing gastronomic extravaganza.

During those chilly August days, the Royal Exhibition Buildings will be transformed into a haven of warm, cosy, comfort, snug chairs and quiet areas have been set aside so groups of friends can savour and discuss each of the taste sensations for which the restaurants are famous.

Purchasing food and wine at Taste of Melbourne has been made simple with the use of a specially created currency – the Crown (1 Crown = $1). The cost of dishes varies from 8 to 12 Crowns with glasses of wine commencing at 6 Crowns. The process is as simple as passing over the required number of Crowns for the selected dish or glass of wine. For convenience ATM's and Crown conversion banks will be located on site.
