Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, proud sponsor of the 2007 Oxfam “Taste for Change” dinner, brings together six of Sydney’s leading chefs on 26 July 2007 in aid of Oxfam. The dinner aims to raise AU$100,000 as a contribution to the staging of Kaleidoscope, an international event bringing together 300 young people from 92 countries in Sydney later this year.
Now in its eighth year, Oxfam’s annual “Taste for Change” dinner has become a major fundraising event, and this year will feature acclaimed Australian chefs including host chef, Michael Kean, John Lanzafame and Peter Evans from Hugo’s, Dave Pegrum of Forbes & Burton, Darren Simpson from la Sala, and Dietmar Sawyere and Chris Edwards from Restaurant Forty One.
Host chef, Michael Kean from Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney is responsible for the largest selection of quality food and beverage outlets of any five-star hotel in Sydney. Michael’s European influenced modern Australian cuisine has been sampled by Academy Award-winning actress, Sophia Loren, and model and TV personality, Cindy Crawford.
The “Taste for Change” dinner will include entertainment from two extraordinarily talented artists: Dan Sultan, who was nominated for a 2006 Deadly Award, which celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander achievement in the areas of sport, music and entertainment; and Sydney-based singer/songwriter Ohad Rein (Old Man River).
The “Taste for Change” dinner offers guests a sensational six-course culinary journey priced at AU$200 per person. For more information and bookings, please call Suzie Allen at tel: (02) 8204 3928, e-mail
