The food was over cooked and in some cases burnt. Our disapproval of the main meal was met with contempt from the chef (and as it turns out owner). Apollo Bay has plenty to offer. La Bimba is not one of these.

The service in the restaurant was very average, and the food was not exceptional. It took ages to receive our mains and when my fish got there was still raw and had to send it back to the kitchen, plus it was not really tasty at all. The place itself is nice, but I would not eat there again. A couple next to us waited at least 40 minutes for their food, and when it was ready, the waitress dropped the plate while leaving the kitchen and they had to start over again...bah

The waitress began by giving us an animated and knowledgable description of the specials. That was encouraging! We waited 45 minutes for our garlic bread that didnt come because "the other waitress stole it"! Then we cancelled the garlic bread when we got our mains. Then our garlic bread arrived, which we cancelled again. My whole trevally was perfect but my partners steak had an obviously burnt sauce on it that made it totally bitter. The extra veggies we ordered were perfect. After we paid and left we discovered that.....yes, we had been charged for the bread!
