The waitress (who appeared to be wearing a massive white nightie rather than the cute denim cut offs in the promo pics!) was nice about explaining that there were no ribs (hmmm ok)...no burgers (wtf?)...and no something else that we wanted because of New Years and running down the stock before a holiday. Fair enough. Decided not to let that ruin our gathering and ordered 3 jugs of sangria...tasted beautiful but at $30 a jug you'd hope to get a little tipsy on it. Nope. We'd heard the chicken fajitas were better to be shared for 2 so we ordered 3 serves for 6 of us. We were assured it would be plenty and friends before us had not been able to eat it all...the 3 serves came out on 2 platters which made it difficult to share between couples...and all the condiments were totally shared which meant we got pissy amounts of everything. Thank god we ordered chips which were really good. One of our mates politely questioned the amounts of food and we were given another serve on the house....with 4 tortillas which was a bit silly considering there were 6 of us.Cool waitress, cool vibe , only one unisex toilet (eww!) cool music but need to pick up the food and serve what they are reputed to serve, big american serves. The writing on the menu was so tiny you could barely read it too! Er..and spoke to 4 out of 6 mates and they all had dodgey stomachs the next day. Thanks Big Rip Diner.

The vibe and feel of this dinner is amazing, it's a damn shame the food doesn't match. I had the macaroni and cheese, and I could have sworn it was a packet microwave job with breadcrumbs added on top! It's a venue with so much potential and the menu is promising, it just lacks on delivering... so close. I hope they can pick up their game before their rep is wrecked.

I was really excited to head down and try the Big Red Diner.... When you walk through the front door your greeted with a great atmosphere, a really cool looking place. My excitement soon draw to and end when my burger arrived. $15 for a burger AND NO CHIPS??? Are you serious??? I was informed that if the friers were working I'd have to pay an extra $3.50 for chips but seeing as though the friers weren't working, I went without. This was topped off by the 1 toilet in the place breaking and leaking into the dining room.... I won't be back again!!
