Step through the door and down the stairs into the den of iniquity. Dining at Spice Temple evokes all of the senses and provides a truly unique dining experience. The food was OK but combined with the atmosphere and excellent wait staff it quickly turns to sensational. Report Review

The front door is fabulous and you think you're in for a real treat. Despite being booked for 2 people at 8.30pm for over 3 weeks, we waited 40 mins before being seated and eventually started eating over an hour later - a bit of a disappointment to say the least... The food by no means exceeded expectations, or even over impressed but wasn't a let down either and we were happy with what we ordered. The service was slow, but we put that down to the fact that it was a VERY busy Saturday night (not that we should have had to make any excuses-at the prices that you pay there!) Report Review

I agree the front door was very hard to find. We had dinner for 7 the other night as I had heard great things about the restaurant I was pretty keen to give it a go. I must admit it was disappointing, the staff although polite gave off that air of superiority one can sometimes find in the service industry. The food was very tasty but the portions were small and each one seemed to be a sea of spicy sauce rather than a more equitable mix of meat/veges/sauce. I can't say I would hurry back. Report Review

The service was professional, the food simply stunning, and what they have done with a sub-basement is simply amazing!! Spice temple has set a new standard for chinese food in sydney, and i will continue to dine there for years to come! If you are expecting an 'entree then main' style of eating, then this isnt the place for you, but if you dare to be different and live outside the box a little, you will be blown away! Report Review

The food is not bad, however, the service is simply shocking for the price it charges. $240 for 3. Friend and I ordered 2 drinks within the period of 5 mins of each other, and friend's drink didn't come for like 15 mins after I got mine. The waiting time between finishing the Entree and the delivery of main was like 40mins! That's after chasing after the waiter multiple times. Just to add icing on the sugar, they even mixed up our bags with other customer and had to chase us down the street. Overall, the food is just wasn't worth going back for, considering the awful service it offered. Report Review

I have to say the front door was hard to find, and the stairs aren't flash, but once inside, this is an interesting restaurant! We thought it looked more like a gentleman's club than a restaurant, and the lights were a little harsh at lunch, but the best part was the food - each dish was exquisite! We had the squid and the pancakes for entree, then went on to the wagyu beef and pork stir fry for mains. None of the dishes blew my head off - they had just the right amount of spice - and the flavours were fantastic! I highly recommend this restaurant for the food. Report Review
